Evergreen Valley dropped their record down to 7-9 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost  15-2 to the Pioneer Mustangs. The Cougars were red-hot at the plate heading into the  contest (they scored no less than ten  runs in the three  games prior), but the Mustangs' pitchers proved too tough.
 Evergreen Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Sakura Roberts, who  went 1-for-2 with one  run and one  double.
As for Pioneer, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the  match before.
 On Pioneer's side,  Cara Goodrich and  Olivia Krump did most of the damage at the plate:  Goodrich  earned three  runs and two  stolen bases, while  Krump  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run. Those  three  RBI gave  Krump a new career-high.  Riley Nevins also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
 Looking ahead, Evergreen Valley will take on Presentation at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Pioneer, they will face off against Piedmont Hills at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6  runs per game  this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
