The Indio Rajahs will head out on the road to face off against the Banning Broncos at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Indio unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 27-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Yucca Valley.
Despite the defeat, Indio got a solid performance out of Abraham Acuna, who picked up 85 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Meanwhile, Banning's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 26-12 fall against Cathedral City.
Although Banning took the loss, they still got scores from EARL DUNAHOO and DANNY MARTINEZ.
Indio's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. Banning has traveled a rocky road this season, as they've lost seven of their first eight contests, which leaves them at a 1-7 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Indio against Banning when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 34-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Indio since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
