Even though the Blacksburg Wildcats scored an imposing 59 points on Saturday, the Dorman Cavaliers still came out on top. Dorman walked away with a 70-59 win over Blacksburg. Given Dorman's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Blacksburg is ranked 129th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Dorman to victory were Rihanna Wallace and Morgan White. Wallace scored 16 points along with six assists and three steals, while White dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. White hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Makayla Moore, who scored 12 points along with five assists and three steals.
Dorman is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Blacksburg, they bumped their record down to 4-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Dorman will be playing in front of their home fans against James F. Byrnes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. James F. Byrnes has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Blacksburg, they will head out on the road to take on Greer Middle College at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
