The Lowndes Vikings were the 35-3 winner over the Richmond Hill Wildcats when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Lowndes was the victim of a tough 37-14 defeat at the hands of Richmond Hill on Friday. Lowndes was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 22-0.
Although Lowndes took the loss, they still got scores from Marvis Parrish and Jacarre' Fleming.
Leading Richmond Hill to victory were Joshua Ulrich-troupe and Nick Bliss. Ulrich-troupe rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, while Bliss rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Bliss' longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards.
Lowndes' loss was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 4-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 14-1 Carrollton and 13-1 Colquitt County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 73% over those games). As for Richmond Hill, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Lowndes will be playing at home against Camden County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Richmond Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Colquitt County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Colquitt County will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
