The Rochester Zebras will face off against the Bremen Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bremen took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Rochester, who comes in off a win.
Rochester's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over Triton. The Zebras haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Bria Rensberger and Mia Howdeshell were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Rensberger pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Howdeshell pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Rensberger went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Howdeshell scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Howdeshell has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Aubrey Wilson was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillee Conley, who scored four runs while going 2-for-3.
Rochester always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .698. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Triton only posted an OBP of .278.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Bremen and Fairfield meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again two weeks ago. The Lions came up short against the Falcons, falling 14-4. The loss put an end to the Lions' undefeated start to the season.
Delainey Neher was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two doubles, and two RBI.
Rochester's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bremen, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
Rochester suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Bremen in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Will the Zebras have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
