The Jacksonville Cardinals won against the Havelock Rams last Tuesday with 51 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. Jacksonville took down Havelock 51-33. The victory was familiar territory for Jacksonville who now have six in a row.
Jacksonville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ama Baldwin led the charge by scoring 16 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Azumi Oka, who scored 12 points along with six steals.
Despite the loss, Havelock still got an impressive performance from Adaija Cypress, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Cypress has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Timayah Brown was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Jacksonville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Havelock, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.
Jacksonville will look to defend their home court on Friday against D.H. Conley at 6:00 p.m. Jacksonville is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season. As for Havelock, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. South Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Havelock likes a good challenge.
