It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Peaster had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed past the Vernon Lions to the tune of 36-3. Considering the Greyhounds have won ten contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Peaster found their leader in sophomore Hudson Salyers, who rushed for 135 yards and one score.
The victory (which was Peaster's sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.5 points on average over those games. As for Vernon, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.
Looking ahead, Peaster will take on Paradise at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Greyhounds 6.9, the Panthers 10.9) so any points scored will be well earned. Vernon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
