The Lake Center Christian Tiger will head out on the road to face off against the Chippewa Chipps at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Center Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.
Lake Center Christian will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Central Christian on Thursday. Shelby McCartney made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. McCartney was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 matchups.
In other batting news, Kaya Zook was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Kane, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Lake Center Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Chippewa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Waynedale, falling 15-4.
KYLEIGH GARTIN made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Lake Center Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.3 runs over those games. As for Chippewa, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
Chippewa's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lake Center Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .370.
