South Amboy and Piscataway Vo-Tech are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The South Amboy Governors will head out on the road to challenge the Piscataway Vo-Tech Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. South Amboy's defense has only allowed 29.7 points per game this season, so Piscataway Vo-Tech's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Last Friday, South Amboy came up short against Mother Seton and fell 33-20. While losing is never fun, South Amboy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 346th, while Mother Seton is ranked 139th).
Piscataway Vo-Tech suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They suffered a rough 50-30 defeat at the hands of Dunellen. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Piscataway Vo-Tech in their matchups with Dunellen: they've now lost eight in a row.
South Amboy bumped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Piscataway Vo-Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
South Amboy lost to Piscataway Vo-Tech on the road by a decisive 38-19 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can South Amboy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
