There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. There's a new number one at the head of the rankings as well as a new caboose.
Can't Touch This
Huntley Project's 55 - 16 win over Baker/Plevna last week had a lot to do with the leadership of junior Asher Croy. Croy earned five touchdowns and 350 yards rushing the ball. That performance made Croy one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The showdown between Billings Central Catholic (1st in the power rankings) and Belgrade (15th) shaped up to be more of a takedown. Billings Central Catholic picked up a decisive 'W' against Belgrade, finishing up at 52 - 14. Billings Central Catholic especially relied on senior Jack Studer, who ran for 197 yards and also punched in one touchdown, and senior Joe Byorth, who tossed for three touchdowns and rushed for two more.
No Stoppin 'Em
Columbia Falls has been an offensive powerhouse for four straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. The final score between it and Browning was a 78 - 20 blowout in Columbia Falls's favor. Senior Colten McPhee deserves a lot of the credit as he rushed for 191 yards and four touchdowns. The combined 98-point effort made this the highest-scoring game in the power rankings for the week.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Helena (17th in the power rankings) and Bozeman (8th). Both teams are rolling into the game after last-week wins. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both Helena and Bozeman put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they play one another this week.
