Madison (Vienna, Va.) jumped out to an early lead against
Marshall (Falls Church, Va.) and never looked back on the way to a 34-14 victory on Saturday.
The Warhawks scored 21 points in the first quarter. Madison scored on a touchdown run by
Nate Williams, a
Jacob Hall touchdown run and a touchdown pass by
Mitchell Goddard to
Ben Sanford.
The Vienna school was up 31-6 at the half after taking the lead on a Williams touchdown run in the first quarter.
Nick Dorka played well for the Warhawks in the victory. The senior kicked two field goals and four extra points.
Madison entered the contest giving up 21.4 points per game this year.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Warhawks came away with a 24-0 victory.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Madison, which was coming off a 42-0 defeat at the hands of Stone Bridge in its previous game.
