Camden County has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Impact Christian Academy Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Camden County's game was all tied up 23-23 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lowndes and snuck past 57-54. Given Camden County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Lowndes is ranked 292nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Elyiss Williams was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Williams is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Ja'Marley Riddle was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Impact Christian Academy came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Crestview by a score of 64-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Camden County's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Impact Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
