After a string of three wins, the Tarboro Vikings's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a serious blow against SouthWest Edgecombe, falling 67-13. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tarboro has scored all season.
SouthWest Edgecombe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kd Collins led the charge by scoring 18 points along with seven assists and four steals. Collins hasn't dropped below 15points for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Moore, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Tarboro's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for SouthWest Edgecombe, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Tarboro will head out on the road to face off against Washington County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Washington County is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for SouthWest Edgecombe, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Nash Central at 6:00 p.m. Nash Central is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
