The Chiles Timberwolves suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 78-35 loss at the hands of Rickards. While losing is never fun, Chiles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while Rickards is ranked 39th).
Despite the loss, Chiles still got an impressive performance from Faith Durden, who scored 16 points along with two steals. That was a full 45.7% of Chiles' points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Chiles' defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Rickards, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chiles' homestand continues as they prepare to take on Madison County at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th. Madison County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Rickards, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Godby at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Godby is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
