Little Miami has gone a perfect 7-0 against Loveland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Little Miami is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Little Miami duked it out with Harrison on Tuesday. The Panthers walked away with an 11-6 win over the Wildcats. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Little Miami let Bailey Thieme and Ashleigh Meece run wild. Thieme went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Meece went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Grace Young was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Little Miami was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Loveland came up short against Anderson on Tuesday and fell 11-7. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Rylee Ripperger put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
In other batting news, Helena Keeton and Olivia Williams stepped up to the plate in a big way. Keeton scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Williams scored a run while going 2-for-3. Keeton has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Summer Rohlfs, who scored two runs and stole a base.
Little Miami's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Loveland, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Little Miami came out on top in a nail-biter against Loveland when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 8-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
