Glen Allen is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Godwin is on a 14-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Jaguars will host the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Glen Allen 1.8, Godwin 0.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Glen Allen had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt J.R. Tucker on Tuesday. The Jaguars blew past the Tigers 10-1. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by nine runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Godwin faced Kellam in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Knights 4-3. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by just one run.
Katelyn Hubley was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over nine innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Glen Allen's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. The Jaguars have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Godwin, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Glen Allen continue to outrun the ball?
Glen Allen suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Godwin in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Jaguars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
