Downingtown West has gone 9-1 against East recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Whippets will face off against the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. Downingtown West's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so East's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Downingtown West's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Bishop Shanahan 14-0. The result was nothing new for the Whippets, who have now won eight contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Addison Carter looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ava Kaczmarski, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Maria DiNatale also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, East entered their tilt with Plymouth Whitemarsh on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Colonials by a score of 4-1.
Ferri Ava spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits.
On the hitting side, Cross Daria was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Caelyn Rodriguez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Downingtown West has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for East, their record is now 11-6.
Downingtown West was able to grind out a solid victory over East when the teams last played back in April, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Whippets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
