Tahoma has gone 9-1 against Kennedy Catholic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lancers at 6:00 p.m. Tahoma will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, Tahoma made easy work of Lake Washington and carried off a 16-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won five matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Alexa Ramirez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Tahoma got a massive performance out of Kelsey Jones, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave Jones a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mia Hammington, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
Tahoma always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Washington only posted an OBP of .278.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Kennedy Catholic's offense. They lost 10-0 to Kentridge on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Lancers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Kennedy Catholic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Audrey Mowat, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Tahoma's win was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Kennedy Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tahoma hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. However, it's not like Kennedy Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .362. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tahoma took their win against Kennedy Catholic when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
