Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Winfield walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Vinemont Eagles on Friday as they made off with a 14-2 win. Considering the Pirates have won 20 games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory was the 14th in a row for Winfield, bringing their record up to 31-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for Vinemont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 32-12.

Winfield will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
