After a string of ten wins, the IDEA Quest College Prep Trailblazers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a hard 55-40 fall against Economedes. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as IDEA Quest College Prep came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 379th, while Economedes is ranked 1296th).
Nathaniel De La Garza was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points for Economedes. The contest was De La Garza's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Jesus Medrano was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals.
IDEA Quest College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 10-1. As for Economedes, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.
IDEA Quest College Prep will take on Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Economedes will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Weslaco at 10:30 a.m. on December 8th. Weslaco is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
