As a matter of fact, Monroe Catholic put up the most runs they have all season on Saturday. They put the hurt on Hutchison with a sharp 26-9 victory. Considering the Rams' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Brian Bast was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Isaiah Snow also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Monroe Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, West Valley faced North Pole in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wolf Pack were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Patriots. The win continues a trend for the Wolf Pack in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won four in a row.
Bryson Roon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Liam Irish was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Eli Taylor, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
West Valley's record now sits at 2-8. As for Monroe Catholic, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
West Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Monroe Catholic has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .543. It's a different story for West Valley, though, as they've only averaged .346. Will they be able to contain Monroe Catholic's hitters?
