The Lugoff-Elgin Demons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 14th straight loss. The matchup between Lugoff-Elgin and A.C. Flora wasn't particularly close, with Lugoff-Elgin falling 66-49. Lugoff-Elgin has not had much luck with A.C. Flora recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Several Demons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Teryn Hobson, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Hobson is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played. Jordan Samuel was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with four steals.
Madison Mickens was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals for A.C. Flora. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mickens has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Terriana Gray, who scored 15 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Lugoff-Elgin's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-16. As for A.C. Flora, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Lugoff-Elgin will be playing at home against Irmo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Irmo is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for A.C. Flora, they will head out on the road to face off against Ridge View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Ridge View is ranked 26th, while A.C. Flora is ranked 21st).
