Football Game Preview: Bishop's Knights vs. Classical Academy Caimans

Bishop is a perfect 6-0 against Classical Academy since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Knights will look to defend their home field against the Caimans at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Bishop's blew La Jolla Country Day out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday La Jolla Country Day got their revenge. The Knights fell just short of the Torreys by a score of 28-26. The Knights gained 157 more yards on the day, but it was the Torreys that made the best use of them.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Dane Larson, who picked up 110 receiving yards and one score. He was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 65 yards.

Bishop's didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Larson and Nick Pfister.

Meanwhile, Classical Academy fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Coastal Academy on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 20-14 to the Stingrays.

Bishop's will have to contain Thomas Wentzel as he made an impact in Classical Academy's last game. He picked up 80 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Bishop's, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Everything came up roses for Bishop's against Classical Academy in their previous meeting back in September of 2023, as the team secured a 35-0 victory. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Caimans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
