Spearfish found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 7-41 punch to the gut against Mitchell on Thursday. This makes it the second loss in a row for Spearfish.
Spearfish's defeat pushes them down to 2-7. The victory bumped Mitchell's record up to 4-5.
Both teams will be heading out of the conference in their next games. Next week Spearfish will take on Riggs at 6:00 PM. Spearfish's defense better steel itself: Riggs are averaging 34.89 points per game. As for Mitchell, they will face off against Brookings. Both of those teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous games.
