Last Saturday, Sierra Grande came up short against Cheraw and fell 33-25. Sierra Grande has struggled against Cheraw recently, as their match on Saturday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by Alexandra Garcia, who scored six points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Trinidad unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They were beaten by Sargent 60-29. The match was a 16-16 toss-up at halftime, but Trinidad was outscored by Sargent in the second.
Sierra Grande bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Trinidad, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Sierra Grande strolled past Trinidad in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 40-24. Will Sierra Grande repeat their success, or does Trinidad have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
