The Pine Grove Cardinals will be playing at home against the Salisbury Township Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Pine Grove and 17 for Salisbury Township dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Pine Grove took a serious blow against Tamaqua, falling 42-3. Pine Grove has struggled against Tamaqua recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Salisbury Township had to suffer through a rough 60-20 loss at the hands of Palmerton. Salisbury Township was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-12.
Despite the loss, Salisbury Township had strong showings from Jamanni Cruz, who picked up 174 receiving yards and a touchdown, and George Spann, who rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown. Cruz's longest reception was for an incredible 78 yards.
The losses dropped Pine Grove to 1-6 and Salisbury Township to 0-7.
Pine Grove was able to grind out a solid win over Salisbury Township in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, winning 23-13. Does Pine Grove have another victory up their sleeve, or will Salisbury Township turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
