The Hickory Christian Academy Knights fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Calvary Day School by a score of 43-35 on Thursday.
Hickory Christian Academy was led to victory by Kiley Whitfield and Mia McGrath. Whitfield scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals, while McGrath dropped a triple-double on 14 points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals. That's the first time this season that Whitfield scored 15 or more points.
Hickory Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Calvary Day School, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hickory Christian Academy will take on Statesville Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Statesville Christian is ranked 547th, while Hickory Christian Academy is ranked 566th). As for Calvary Day School, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on High Point Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
