The Box Elder Bees are taking a road trip to take on the Hurricane Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Box Elder has seven straight victories, Hurricane has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Wednesday, Box Elder made easy work of Mountain Crest and carried off a 15-5 win. Considering the Bees have won six games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kennadie Blackmer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Box Elder got a massive performance out of Lucy Griffin, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits Griffin has posted since back in May of 2025. Kailee Hall was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Box Elder was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Hurricane came up short against Cedar on Thursday and fell 11-7.
Hurricane also got a good showing from Kadence Davey, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Kaylee Clyde was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ruby Seely, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Hurricane's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Box Elder, their record now sits at 7-0.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Box Elder hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Hurricane struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
