Smith Valley is on an 11-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Wells is on a seven-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bulldogs will welcome the Leopards at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Smith Valley's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Wells' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Smith Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Coleville get on the board and left with a 30-0 win on Tuesday. Considering the Bulldogs have won nine games by more than 12 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Wyatt Wulfing was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wulfing was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

Back at the plate, Joseph Marshek was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to hits, as he's now got three or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Balda, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.
Smith Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coleville only posted an OBP of .000.
Meanwhile, Wells was able to grind out a solid victory over Non Varsity Tournament Opponent on Thursday, taking the game 7-4. That's two games straight that the Leopards have won by exactly three runs.
Wells secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Dentin Allen, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Friday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Smith Valley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .631. However, it's not like Wells struggles in that department as they've averaged .532. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Smith Valley took their victory against Wells in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-5 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Leopards have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
