IV Section III recap November 5, 2013
River Valley added to the longest winning streak in IV Section III this week by beating North Pointe Prep, 75-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
River Valley took down the Falcons 75-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Andreas Galvez ran for 223 yards during the win.
Estrella Foothills's dynamic duo of Jared Fleming and Branden Leon proved tough for Parker to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fleming threw for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns and Leon had 120 yards receiving. Michael Bower helped Estrella Foothills' passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 91 yards.
Galvez was a force in the backfield as Terry Staggs' team defeated North Pointe Prep.
Wickenburg's Charles Johnson and Cloud Fritts have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Johnson has thrown for 1,226 yards this season, while Fritts has 41 catches for 536 yards. Brandon Long from the Dust Devils leads the league in rushing with 1,630 yards.
Glendale made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,318 from 11,684. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 16-7 victory over the Wranglers last week.
