Basketball Recap: Riverside Skates Past Madison with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riverside). They breezed by the Madison Dragons to the tune of 64-28 on Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-7.

Riverside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dane Schalk out in front who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jack Molt, who had 13 points.

When it comes to explaining why Madison lost, don't look at Griffin Jordan. Despite the final result, he earned ten points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bodonn Sweeney, who put up eight points.

The victory was the third in a row for Riverside, bringing their record for this year to 3-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Madison, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Riverside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 60-56 defeat against Elgin/Pope John on the 28th. As for Madison, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-40 loss against Lyons-Decatur Northeast on the 3rd.
