They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Woodland Dragons  and snuck past  4-3. The  win was familiar territory for Penobscot Valley who now have three in a row.

 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Emma Potter, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-3.  Julia Young was another key contributor,  going 2-for-3 with a  stolen base, two  RBI,  and a  double.
 On Woodland's side,  Brooke Smith put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out nine batters over  six innings while giving up  four earned runs off   11  hits (and not a single walk). Smith was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Lydia Cropley was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
 Penobscot Valley has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight games,  which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record  this season. As for Woodland, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.
 Penobscot Valley is on the road again  on Saturday to play North Yarmouth Academy at 4:00  p.m. Both teams have allowed few  runs on average, (North Yarmouth Academy: 2.8, Penobscot Valley: 2.8) so any  runs scored will be well earned. Woodland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
