Volleyball Recap: Lutheran Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Lutheran couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lewis-Palmer Rangers on Saturday. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rangers earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

While Lutheran ultimately came up short, they really made Lewis-Palmer work, particularly in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 18-25, 25-19, 28-26.

Lutheran lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kate Wilson, who had nine digs and three aces. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 25 times she's played. Madeline Miller was another key player, getting 20 digs and two aces.

Leading Lewis-Palmer to victory were Cady Knight and Olivia Ivall. Knight had 26 digs, while Ivall had seven digs and two aces.

Lutheran's loss ended a seven-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-8. As for Lewis-Palmer, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lewis-Palmer, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against University on the 15th.
