Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The West Nodaway Rockets, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 46-34 to East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Cameron Brooks had a dynamite game for East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax], rushing for 102 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, while also picking up 32 receiving yards. Brooks was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards. Blake Simmons was another key contributor, rushing for 64 yards and a touchdown.
West Nodaway's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax], they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.
West Nodaway does not have any more games scheduled as of now. East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] will take on South Holt at TBD on Friday. One thing working in South Holt's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
