Moses Brown was the  5-4 winner over Smithfield when they last played one another  last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Moses Brown Quakers took  a  9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Smithfield Sentinels on Wednesday. Moses Brown has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Anna Costello put in work while hitting and pitching. She  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Costello has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Costello was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Costello wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Abby DeWolf, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 On Smithfield's side,  Maddie Bose was  incredible,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with a  home run, three  stolen bases,  and two  runs.  Ava Lopez was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
 Moses Brown's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Smithfield, their victory  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 7-12.
 As of now, neither Moses Brown nor Smithfield have any future games scheduled.
