The Tahoma Bears have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Emerald Ridge Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. One thing working in Tahoma's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Tahoma stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They put the hurt on Mt. Rainier with a sharp 84-59 win. Given Tahoma's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Rams are ranked 122nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tahoma to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dalton Brown, who scored 25 points. Another player making a difference was Adam Davis, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Emerald Ridge lost to the Bears at home by a decisive 55-41 margin on Saturday. Emerald Ridge has not had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Tahoma's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.2 points per game. As for Emerald Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.
Everything went Tahoma's way against the Jaguars when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the Bears made off with a 69-43 win. Will Tahoma repeat their success, or do the Jaguars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
