The Point Arena Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Credo Gryphon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Point Arena's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
Point Arena was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Technology on Friday. The Pirates put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 26-9 victory. The Pirates' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Hattie Piper was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. She is also on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Sophia Roach also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Point Arena always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .723. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.
Calistoga hit Credo with a 18-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Gryphon lost 25-7 to the Wildcats. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 2, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Zoe LaFleur made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Harper Malone was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Credo's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Point Arena, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Point Arena has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .523. However, it's not like Credo struggles in that department as they've averaged .518. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Point Arena took their victory against Credo in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 15-6 score. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Gryphon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
