After two games on the road, Notre Dame Prep is heading back home. They will take on The Desert Mountain Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Notre Dame Prep was the victim of a tough 41-21 defeat at the hands of American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North.
Notre Dame Prep's loss came about despite a quality game from Noah Trigueros, who rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Desert Mountain's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were outmatched by Higley at home and fell 58-21.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Bryce Herges, who rushed for 26 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 172 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Tapley, who picked up 143 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The losses dropped Notre Dame Prep to 4-5 and Desert Mountain to 8-1.
Notre Dame Prep came out on top in a nail-biter against Desert Mountain in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, sneaking past 20-17. Does Notre Dame Prep have another victory up their sleeve, or will Desert Mountain turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
