If the Jupiter Christian Eagles were feeling good off their 73-53 takedown of the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Jupiter Christian fell just short of Lighthouse Private Christian Academy by a score of 71-68. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Conner Hoffman, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Barron, who scored 14 points.
Jupiter Christian has fallen quite a ways from their 22-4 record last season and are now at 5-8. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.
Jupiter Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Joseph Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 20th. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, Lighthouse Private Christian Academy and Cornerstone Charter Academy will face off at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Cornerstone Charter Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Lighthouse Private Christian Academy likes a good challenge.
