The New Philadelphia Quakers will head out on the road to take on the Ashland Arrows at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. New Philadelphia is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Thursday, New Philadelphia lost to Wooster on the road by a decisive 59-40 margin.
Even though Ashland has not done well against Wooster recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Ashland enjoyed a cozy 65-48 win over Wooster.
Ashland found their leader in underclassman Cienna Steury, who scored 21 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Steury has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Lacey, who scored 16 points.
New Philadelphia's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Ashland, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season.
New Philadelphia couldn't quite finish off Ashland in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 and fell 55-53. Can New Philadelphia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
