On Saturday McCurdy take on Laguna Acoma at 1:00 PM. McCurdy are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the contest prepared for a fight.
There's no need to mince words: McCurdy lost to Santa Fe Indian last Saturday, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 6-47. McCurdy got a solid performance out of sophomore Santiago Samora, who passed for 130 yards and 1 touchdown; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
Laguna Acoma had a rough outing against Tohatchi two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Everything went Laguna Acoma's way against Valley as the squad secured a 36-0 victory.
Laguna Acoma's victory lifted them to 2-1 while McCurdy's loss dropped them down to 0-3. We'll see if Laguna Acoma's success rolls on or if McCurdy are able to steal their positive momentum.
