Basketball Recap: Ben Tesch's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bonneville over Woods Cross

Bonneville was the 45-43 winner over Woods Cross when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bonneville Lakers fell to the Woods Cross Wildcats 45-40.

Bonneville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Tesch, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most boards Tesch has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Davis Degroot, who posted nine points.

Woods Cross' win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elliot Bendinger, who had 12 points. Landon Shepherd also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Bonneville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Woods Cross, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonneville will take on Clearfield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bonneville is facing Clearfield at the right time seeing as Clearfield is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Woods Cross, they will challenge Box Elder at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Box Elder is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season.
