Orem is 5-0 against the Wasps since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Orem Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wasatch Wasps at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Orem has ten straight wins, the Wasps have three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Maple Mountain scored an imposing 63 points on Friday, Orem still came out on top. Orem walked away with a 75-63 victory over the Golden Eagles.
Orem's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jax Allen, who scored 22 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Allen has scored all season. Trey Hiatt was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wasatch came up short against the Aviators on Friday and fell 57-50. Wasatch has struggled against the Aviators recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Orem pushed their record up to 15-4 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Wasatch, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Orem strolled past the Wasps in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 67-53. Does Orem have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wasps turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
