This season hasn't been kind to The Wethersfield Eagles, who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They fell to Middletown 18-13. Wethersfield was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Middletown apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Wethersfield's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Middletown, Windsor, and Hall. As for Middletown, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wethersfield will face off against Bristol Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Bristol Central is ranked 81st, while Wethersfield is ranked 71st). Middletown will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Newington at 6:30 p.m. on October 27th. Newington comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
