The Waynesville Spartans won the last time they faced the Brookville Blue Devils, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Waynesville walked away with a 60-52 win over Brookville. The victory was all the more spectacular given Waynesville's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Brookville is ranked 61st).
Despite the loss, Brookville still got an impressive performance from Cole Crabtree, who scored eight points along with six assists and four steals. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for Crabtree. Another player making a difference was Braedan Smart, who scored eight points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Waynesville and bumps their season record up to 2-2. As for Brookville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.
Waynesville will be home for the holidays to greet Oakwood at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Brookville, they will head out on the road to face off against Madison at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
