The Sweetwater Mustangs will challenge the Clyde Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Sweetwater is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past North Garland 22-1 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Phoenix Walker was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (four). Another player making a difference was Kamree Shaw, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4.
Sweetwater kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Clyde got the win against Anson on Saturday by a conclusive 8-2. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Sutton McClain was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Allred, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Sweetwater's win bumped their record up to 5-6-1. As for Clyde, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Sweetwater hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .400. However, it's not like Clyde struggles in that department as they've averaged .439. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Sweetwater was able to grind out a solid win over Clyde in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 3-0. Will Sweetwater repeat their success, or does Clyde have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
