The Potosi Trojans lost against the Central Tigers back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Potosi had to suffer through a rough 57-6 loss at the hands of Central. While losing is never fun, Potosi can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Central is ranked 84th).
Zai'aire Thomas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Central, rushing for 156 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching a touchdown. Thomas' longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyshawn Boyd, who rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.
Potosi's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Central, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.
Potosi will head out on the road to face off against North County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North County is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Central will take on Mehlville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mehlville comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
