Ben Hartley of Ogemaw Heights ran for the longest rushing play in Big North this season against Cheboygan last week. Hartley scampered for 75 yards on the play and finished with 90 on the day as his team topped the Chiefs.
Ogemaw Heights moved up to 124 from 193 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Andrew Pratley's team climbed the ranks as a result of besting Cheboygan 41-6.
The Falcons' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Hartley threw for 149 and one touchdown and Josh Awrey had 104 yards receiving. On the ground Brandon Benac chipped in 99 yards. Jerome Hunter helped Ogemaw Heights' passing attack out by catching two balls for 46 yards.
Ogemaw Heights' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Falcons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hartley has thrown for 927 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Hunter has 18 catches for 476 yards. Benac leads the league in rushing with 1362 yards.
Traverse City Central extended the longest winning streak in Big North this week by beating Bay City Western, 48-47. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Trojans.
