The Polk County Wildcats are on the road again on Friday and play against the Hampton Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
Polk County started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against York Institute. They were beaten by the Dragons 40-12 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Polk County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 226th, while York Institute is ranked 75th).
Although Polk County took the loss, they still got scores from Matthew Maxwell and Damien McWilliams.
Meanwhile, Hampton had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.3 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They strolled past South Greene with points to spare, taking the game 32-14.
Polk County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Hampton, their victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2.
