Jesuit won the last time they faced Sunset and things went their way on Friday too. The Crusaders breezed past the Apollos to the tune of 59-8. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won five contests by 28 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jesuit to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Ortner, who rushed for 217 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries. Ortner really tore up the turf during one magnificent 81-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Wilson, who rushed for 100 yards and one score.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jesuit was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 448 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Jesuit's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.7 points on average over those games. As for Sunset, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
As of now, neither Jesuit nor the Apollos have any future games scheduled.
